21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
January 9 - 29, 2012

Join us as we set apart 21 days at the beginning of this year to pray and fast as a church.

Why are we fasting?

-To connect with God in a deeper way
-To see breakthrough in our lives and our church
-To follow Jesus example. Jesus fasted (Matthew 4:1-11), and taught us how to pray and fast.
He said "When you pray…" and "When you fast…" Matthew 6:5-18
-Great men and women of God, such as Moses (Exodus 34:27-28), Esther (Esther 4-7), Daniel (Daniel 10), Paul (Acts 9:8-9) and many others fasted.
-Jesus said in Matthew 6:18 "your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly"

What is fasting?

Fasting is substituting our regular food intake or activities in order to focus in prayer on God and His Word. We are purposefully redirecting the attention we would normally give to these areas to God and His plan for our lives.

"Prayer is reaching out after the unseen; fasting is letting go of all that is seen and temporal. Fasting helps express, deepen, confirm the resolution that we are ready to sacrifice anything, even ourselves to attain what we seek for the kingdom of God." -Andrew Murray

How do I fast?

There are many ways to fast, whichever method you choose, we believe this will be a very powerful and significant time for you, your family, and our church.

Liquid Fast: No food, and only liquid (Matthew 4)
Partial Fast: Eliminating certain foods from your diet, and/or activities from your schedule (Daniel 10)
Daniel Fast: Eating only fruits and vegetables, and drinking only water. (Daniel 1)

*It's very important that you fast safely. If you have any know medical conditions or suspect such conditions, please consult your doctor before beginning the fast.

What we are believing for?

-Favor with both God and man
-More souls to come to Christ than in any previous year in our history
-Miracles in peoples lives and relationships
-An increased passion in our pursuit of Christ
-Our first permanent building and church home
-Breakthrough in finances, promotions, job opportunities and increase in every area
-Marriages and families to be strengthened
-An increase in our ability and capacity to touch peoples lives with God's love and grace

We pray that this year, as we dream even bigger dreams, we will walk in the very best that God has for our lives both personally and as a church family.
